Summer Wrap Up!

Just a few fun pics......

Josie and SOME of her babies at bedtime.

Have you met our fish, Tanner?!?!
We have had him since June.
Josie had a fit over her cousin Addison's fish when we "babysat" it while they were on vacation.  I thought this might be a great opportunity to teach her responsibility, etc...... So much for that lesson, but she enjoys having Tanner in her room with her :) Don't you love the Dora accessories?!

Josie has a new obsession with the idea of going camping... not sure where that came from, but we improvised with a little marshmallow roasting in our fire pit last week.  Every night when I put Josie to bed, she asks me to tell her a pretend camping story.  Maybe we will venture out into the woods sometime for a REAL camping trip!

My sweet girl LOVES to help me cook!
I asked Josie one night if she would like to be a chef when she grows up and she replied, "No, I want to be a mommy when I grow up!"  Smart girl... I think that is the most important job in the world :)

Decorating cookies!

We have had a blast this summer!
I will admit that I am starting to look forward to cooler weather, fall activities and do I dare say it!?!?..... the holidays!

Our Back to School Pic

Our 2012 Back to School Pic....

Josh's 2nd Year of Law School!
(He's going to kill me for posting this...)

We are getting back into the routine around here this week and we are one tired bunch!!
Josh's early morning wake up call is rocking our world!  I have soooo appreciated his help this summer with getting Josie ready in the mornings, etc.  Now, it's back to just me and Josie as Josh is gone by 5:45 or 6:00 every morning.  We are doing better than I expected, but I will say that this weekend can't get here fast enough!

It's crazy to think that Josie will be joining Josh next year in the "Back to School Picture!"

Bathroom Makeover

So.... we FINALLY decided that it was time to give our bathroom a "face lift!"  Josh and I have said for seven years now (hard to believe that we've been in this house that long!) that we really enjoy our house and all of its funny little quirks as an older home EXCEPT for our "master bathroom."  We have done little projects throughout the years, but this is a project that was LONG OVERDUE!

My fabulous hubby has no fear in tackling home projects, but he also has no appreciation for a woman's love for some great before and after pics :)  He just literally makes up his mind to do something and dives right in....!!!  So, he began this project one day while I was at work.

"BEFORE" (the shower curtain had already been ripped down and given to Goodwill and also he had started painting on a back wall that you can't see.... We might should call this the "BEGINNING STAGES OF TRANSFORMATION)

Check out the AWFUL brownish/mauve tile.
Don't you love our attempt at "sponge painting" the bathroom -- we really thought that looked good when we did it several years back, but you have to understand.... we were just so grateful to get rid of the hideous wallpaper that was ORIGINAL to the house!!!
close up of the tile --- lovin' the two toned look :)

DRUMROLL PLEASE.................

AFTER:

The tile was painted white, new flooring, bright color on the walls, some new decor and window treatments....and WA - LA!
It's a new fabulous bathroom that I am LOVING!!!!
It's hard to tell but the color on the walls is a bit of a coral/orange color (can't recall the real name at the moment)  It's hard to grasp the real color based on this pic.  I promise that the bathroom is NOT pink... not sure why it looks that way in the pics!  We still need a shower curtain, but I am on the hunt for the perfect one.... maybe soon!

I love the handpainted angel and the iron towel bar.
All of the wall pieces came from a great little shop in Covington called Patina.
They have such unique pieces!

These colors are not my typical decorating colors... I typically prefer more earth tones, but I love the brighter color for this small space.  You cannot appreciate this pretty dramatic makeover until you see it in person!

I'm sooooo grateful to my sweet husband for doing ALL of this hard work!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure that he's glad law school has started back now :)
I will start working on my "honey - do list" for Christmas break.......hahaha

First Ballet Class

Josie started ballet classes last week!!  Oh, boy.... We are in for some fun times!
She had a complete BLAST!  I was so sad that I wasn't able to take her for the first class, but Grandmommy and Daddy agreed to go!  I'm a little biased, but I think my sweet girl is the most beautiful ballerina ever :)  Josie is also thrilled that a few of her friends are in the class!

Fourth of July 2012

We had a GREAT 4th of July!
My pictures are out of order (and I'm too tired to fix it!)

We started celebrating on the 3rd by going to a cookout at Scott & Mary's house with all of the kids and then going to the Country Club to watch fireworks (my camera was dead that night... bummer!)

This next picture is very random, but it's something that I don't want to forget.... Josie has a real issue with textures when it comes to food.  She will eat very little fruit, because she truly gags when she eats a lot of "mushy" fruits.  She has recently started eating strawberries, because we happened to tell her one time that they will make her grow big and strong!  So, she will literally eat a little bit of strawberries and then show us her muscles and say, "Look!  I'm growing!!"  Love this precious girl :)
Then, we had a busy 4th of July! Josie and I were in the neighborhood parade, which is always so much fun! Mary and Whitt joined us this year and I think that Josie and Whitt looked so cute in the wagon!  It was a HOT day, but soooooo fun!!!!!
Guess who also joined us at the parade?!!?
Carleigh, Ben, "Baby Graham" and "Baby Reece!!"

We ended our day with a fun cookout at our house with Josh's family!
Grandmommy and JJ brought fireworks!!!!  Yay!!
What a GREAT day!!

Miss Ashley's Shower

I helped host a wedding shower for one of Josie's sweet teachers, Miss Ashley.
She is the most precious young lady and ALL of the kids just love her!
We are so happy for her as she will soon become Mrs. Richardson!

This was as good as I could get with the kiddos :)
There were a ton mroe kids there, but we were all so busy and having such a great time that we forgot to take a pic until the end.

Destin 2012

We just returned from a wonderful week in Destin, Florida!  We joined my parents and my brother and his family for a fun filled week at the beach (well, mostly the swimming pool!)
It was so nice being away and taking time to relax, have fun and get some time in the sun!
The beach is my happy place :)

Olivia (8), Stella (18 months) and Josie (3)

My sweet girl got her first tattoo :)  What happens in Destin, stays in Destin..... :)

Nonni and Popee with the grandkids

 My little family :)

I love this precious beach bum!!!

 Fun in the Sun!!

 Olivia's B-day Party!!!!
Cookie cake for breakfast was GREAT!!!!

We have promised my parents a family portrait for almost 5 years now..... It FINALLY happened!!!  We had professional beach pictures taken by Rebecca Knowles.   These are a few of our own pictures, but I cannot wait to see the proofs from Rebecca!!  She was sooo sweet and great to work with!  Yay for a wonderful Destin trip!
